Vicky and Ryan's Wedding

Vicky and Ryan were always very laid back about what they wanted from their wedding photographs. When I first showed them my portfolio, they warmed to my ‘stand-back’ and unposed style. They also stipulated that they didn’t want any group shots and would rather I spent the time capturing natural shots of their guests enjoying the day.

The wedding and reception all took place at the end of February at on the edge of Delamere Forest in Cheshire. A really beautiful venue with acres of land providing plenty of potential photography locations. I met the couple at the venue the day before the wedding to get some shots of them preparing the venue and we also went for a little walk around the grounds and took some couple shots.

As it was February, I had planned for unpredictable weather. It wasn’t too bad in the end - a little bit cold to be hanging around outside for too long and the odd shower, but we worked around them and managed to get all the shots we needed. As there were no group shots it meant I didn’t have to drag all the guests outside so just myself and the couple ventured out.

This was one of those weddings that really was a pleasure to be part of. The groom actually told me that having me as their photographer “felt like having another friend there” which helped them to relax for the shots. This is the biggest compliment I could ask for from a wedding client.

Congratulations Vicky and Ryan x
