Sam and Jim's wedding
When I first met with Sam and Jim they described their wedding as 'do-it-yourself'. They were doing most of the bits between them and friends - including flowers, decorations, cakes and of course the home brew! And as Sam wasn't fussed about having any getting ready photographs taken I offered instead to take some photos of them getting the venue ready (the venue being the incredible Victoria Baths in Manchester).
This place is an absolute dream for any photographer, with so much character and so many little hidden corners that make stunning backdrops.
Again the brief was relaxed, so after the ceremony I spent an hour or so mingling with guests and snapping away and then spent the rest of the time touring the venue with the bride and groom taking couple shots. I came up with the idea of a voyeuristic style for some of the shots, as it seemed to suit the location really well. Nothing creepy - I would just lean around doorways or catch elements in the foreground of some of the shots to give the impression that I was hiding and the couple were alone.
Another brilliant wedding. Congratulations again to Sam and Jim.
