Gemma and Dan's Wedding

I first met Gemma and Dan for a pre-wedding meeting and shoot at their venue back in early summer. They had travelled up from London so it seemed only right that I made the effort too. Dalston Hall is a Grade II listed castle close to Carlisle, but far enough away to feel like it’s in the middle of nowhere. It’s lovely.

I could tell from meeting the couple and talking about the wedding plans that this was going to be a great wedding - and I wasn’t wrong. They had me hooked at the mention of balloons.

Thankfully, at the wedding, on the very last day of August, the weather came through and the sun was out all day long. This meant that everyone could relax in the grounds and take in the fantastic views in between the formalities which took place in the Hall.

The couple were such good fun to work with and were up for all the adventurous shots I suggested. They had maintained from the start that they had chosen me because of my relaxed and informal style of natural wedding photography. And on the day, Gemma, Dan and their family and friends were such good fun to be around that it wasn’t hard to achieve the results they wanted.

Huge congratulations to them both. x
